Enclosure in Sir John Jordan's No. 8lor Jundario 7th, 1910

Wai Wu Pu to His Majesty's Minister.

Sir:-

December 30th, 1909.

With reference to the question of installing a

Wireless Telegraph Station on the Pratas Islands we

have already had the honour to communicate with you

by memorandum a despatch of the Board of posts and

communications on this subject. We have now receiv-

ed another despatch from that Board forwarding a re-

quest from the Telegraph Administration as follows:-

*The British Minister suggests that China shall

send persons to the Hong-Kong Observatory to study

Astronomy and weather observations. The Administra-

tion would be very pleased to do this and are very

grateful for this kindness. It has been now decid-

ed to send five students to Hong-Kong for the above

purpose and we enclose a list of their names, ages and

native districts. We beg that you will communicate

with the British Minister and ask to be informed as

to the arrangements to be made for their reception
